Shillong Times Newspaper

The Shillong Times is an Indian newspaper. It is North-East India's second oldest English-language daily) started as a tabloid-sized weekly on August 10, 1945, on a treadle machine in Shillong. S. B. Chaudhuri was its founding editor and proprietor. Parsva Nath Chaudhuri bought the newspaper and the press in 1961, and also took over as editor. Following his death on April 1, 1978, his youngest son Manas Chaudhuri took over the management of the paper.
